Are you using the switch interface? Switches won’t work on the iPad/iPhone without it. If you are, which switch interface are you using?

Subject: Iphone switch access
Hey techie folks.
Try as I might I cannot get a regular switch to work with my iphone 5. I know how to turn on switch accessibility in the settings and I see it start to scan but when I hit the switch it doesn’t respond. I’ve tried several switches. What
am I missing? Can I not use a regular buddy switch? I’ve tried micro-light etc. I feel like there is something silly I am not doing! Help! Thank you in advance.
