in response to Amy R's post regarding mouse access with iOS, I'm forwarding an email I received from AbleNet last week about mouse access for all with the Fall iOS update and AbleNet discontinuing its SideKick product.  I do agree that mouse access to iOS is indeed a game changer.

Recently you signed up to receive updates about AbleNet’s Sidekick mouse adapter for iPad and iPhone. Today we are contacting you with some very exciting news!
 
Earlier this week, Apple released their developer beta previews of iOS 13 for iPhone and iPadOS for iPad. We are happy to announce that USB and Bluetooth mouse support will be built-in as part of the accessibility features of the operating system starting this fall! With the new built-in mouse support, you will no longer need to purchase specialized hardware like Sidekick or alternatives to use a mouse, trackball, head mouse, or other pointing device on your iPad or iPhone. Instead, to use a USB mouse, you will need a USB to Lighting or USB to USB C adapter that is typically under $30.
 
Because mouse support will be available for free to anyone who upgrades to iOS 13 or iPadOS this fall, we are discontinuing our development of Sidekick.
 
While we invested in the development of Sidekick, we are excited about mouse support for iPad and iPhone. To get you up to speed on mouse support for iPad and iPhone, we’ve put together a video outlining all the features.
