I’ve had quite a play with it and although it’s a great development, it’s not ideal, yet. It did work well with the Quha and a USB mouse but failed to work with a TrackerPro. There appears to be a lag in connecting when switched on, which isn’t always automatic, and there is poor feedback when it does connect. Feedback overall is not great, especially on dwell,  and I would only consider providing this for someone who is very tech savvy, for now. Not trying to dish what is an exciting development, especially with the anti-tremor function, it’s just it’s not yet in a form that can be used by everyone. Again, maybe it’s poor set up by me.......

Cheers

Subject: Re: Finally Control iPhone and iPad with USB Mouse (headtracker, touchpad, etc)

Hi there! Greetings from Iowa!

The ALS-A IA Chapter has the AMAneo BTI Assistive Mouse Adapter in their AT kit. The set up was slick on the iPad but during the prep and demo with students I really struggled to move the onscreen mouse pointer with both Quaha Zono and also with a USB mouse.  Hoping it’s just a knowledge issue re: settings and getting them to take effect.

Curious about feedback on this product in the field? Has anyone shown this or had any pALS give it a try?

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to make sure everyone is aware that the USB adapter to use a mouse on iPhones and iPads is now on the market. I got mine through Grasp Technology graspat.com but I think Ablenet and Inclusive Technologies is going to be carrying them too. The price is about $360.00.

It worked great on my iPhone with just a standard USB mouse. This is such a game changer! I am off to try it with my Quha Zono and other mouse emulators.

Both AbleNet and inclusive technologies had an iPad mouse at their booths. I did not have a chance to use the one at IT but AbleNet's is REALLY sweet and works with head mouse as well as traditional mouse. Wireless mouse does not work well.

Both companies are awaiting approval from Apple, which they expect in 3-4 months if not sooner. Price is expected to be between $325-$400

Interesting! Looks like slightly jerky/jumpy movement from the video, but a great option. Hope it's less than the predicted $350 --

Saw this video on Twitter this morning.  Exciting news IMO.

World first: AMAneo BTi enables disabled people to operate iPad & iPhone by mouse.

Until now, it was not possible for you to control your iPhone or iPad with a mouse or a mouse replacement.

With AMAneo BTi you can now operate your iOS device with any assistive or ergonomic mouse.

It works with any iPhone 5s or higher, iPad 4 or higher, iPad mini or higher, without any additional app. Simply connect
AMAneo BTi by Bluetooth: the touch pointer will appear on the display.
