I am a PT so automatically went to the thought that maybe he could use the switch the chair has with his foot instead of with his hands if its big enough for him to target with a less dexterous body part? Some of my clients have been able to drive power chairs with small size switches.

Subject: Voice Control for Lift Chair

Hello all,

I have a client with ALS that has no hand or arm function but can walk and speak clearly.  He is in need of a voice control for a seat lift recliner chair as he is home most of the day by himself.  I know we have discussed voice command bed controls, but has anyone used them with a lift chair?  He uses an Amazon Echo in the house.

Any input appreciated.

Regards,

Alisa
