Milton Friedman once said "Only a crisis-actual or perceived-produces real change.  When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around."  

While we have been advocating to have telepractice speech therapy/AAC services covered for our patients for many years (due to their challenges with travel and the scarcity in many areas of SLPs who specialize in meeting the needs of people with ALS) now may be a time when this idea could actually push through to become policy.  Please join me in urging your representatives to cosponsor CONNECT for Health act of 2019 (H.R. 4932/S 2741) and urging its inclusion in any legislative response to the coronavirus pandemic.
