Via FB post from the AAC program at Boston Children’s Hospital

The Augmentative Communication Program developed a hospital based symbol set many years ago so we could create custom communication boards for all of our communication vulnerable inpatients at Boston Children's Hospital (some of you may have been part of the groups that did iconicity testing to determine what the symbol meant to the average viewer, as the symbols were being developed) .

Back in the mid 90's, we tried to give the symbol set away to companies like Mayer-Johnson, but they declined them at the time as the symbols were a different format than theirs.

SO, BCH licensed the symbols to Vidatak for their communication boards and apps so they could get broader use.      We are really glad to see that Vidatak and their associates are offering these valuable products free of charge during this Covid-19 crisis.
