Hi Tara,

I had a client a year or two ago who came across the Gus website in her research and was very interested in those devices.  I tried probably 5 or 6 times to contact the company, by both phone and email, to get more information about the devices and ask if we could borrow a loaner for her to trial.  No one from Gus ever returned any of my emails or voicemails.  I figured if they couldn't be bothered to provide customer service in order to make a sale, they certainly wouldn't make any effort to support a user once the sale had been made.  Another SLP I know has had similar experiences with this company.  I hope this helps.

Subject: Gus communications device

I have a patient that is looking into a Gus speech device (Communicator U1).  I do not have any experience with this particular company, so wanted some advice for all of you.  I guess my question is to whether let her pursue or try to lead her to the companies that I typically work with Dynavox, Tobii, etc.

Thanks

Tara
