Sending this email per a phone call I received from the CALS.

A newer system is not an option for reasons unknown to me.  The CALS is looking for an ERICA system that someone may have sitting around.  I told him I would sent this email out to the listserv and see if anyone could help.

Please communicate directly with Bill if you are able to help.  (he’s not on this listserv)

Thanks,

Alisa

Alisa,

Please send the following to all your chapters and let me know. Chris will appreciate it.

----------------

Dear ALS equipment folks,

My brother Chris was diagnosed with ALS here in Colorado about 6 years ago (still in Colorado) and quickly became in need of eye response equipment to communicate. We got him a camera with ERICA software and he immediately became attached. The machine worked very well for him for about 5 years but does not do so now. We sent the machine to a new company that took over from the original with no luck. They could not fix the computer.

The request is for a camera and ERICA equipment (2.6-3.0) that you may have sitting around unused. I understand that some of you will not send equipment outside of your community. I am simply pleading with you to have a heart for Chris if you have the above equipment. We would be willing to compensate you for your troubles. He is desperate. If you are able to accommodate please contact me at billv0414@gmail.com.

sincerely,

Bill Virden
