Subject: speech apps for the iPad for Spanish speaking families

Hi folks,

Does anyone have any insight for Shannon?  (below)

I’ve used Spanish text to speech but not a Spanish symbol app.

Any help appreciated.

Thx

I am currently working with a SLP in Springfield who was asking for an iPad for a family we serve.  The family is primarily Spanish speaking, and understand very little English.  The pALS cannot read or write Spanish or English, and the SLP identified that Proloquo2go, because of the pictures would work out best because he can identify pictures rather than writing out what he wants to say (because he cannot understand).  I looked into Proloquo2go to see if they have a Spanish version, but they do not currently.  Is there an app out there like Proloquo2go with the pictures or pecs for the individual that speaks in Spanish?  It cannot be in English because the family speaks very little.  I wasn’t sure if there was something that this individual might be able to use that has a picture system and has an output to speak in Spanish.  Do you know of anything?

Thanks!

Shannon
