Thanks, Amy.  I had located those also.

Wondered if anyone had any actual experience with the apps you had listed on your Pinterest page.

I plan to work with the family in the next week or so…

The apps I mentioned are text to speech not simply digital recordings.

I have used the Go Talk NOW app in the same way, but the same comments will apply.  If the user wants a more robust app than just saved phrases and pre-programmed messages, then it would not be the way to go.

Here is another resource for paper-based communication cards for multi-languages…

I had a patient who speaks Punjabi not too long ago who used an ipad. I downloaded Mozazz Talking Tiles application which allowed us to edit the audio, icon and text for each button. His daughter and son audio recorded in Punjabi on each icon which worked well for him. Only problem is this was a Parkinson’s patient with onset of dementia so his output and communication was at the functional level. If this person is someone who is without cognitive deficits and needs to communicate beyond functional phrases it may not be the best bet.

Hi Lisa,

I do have some apps, devices, low tech boards and videos for Cantonese on my Pinterest site. If you go to Amyand pals.com and tap the Pinterest button it'll take you there. Look at my board for Asian languages.
