ALS Association Oregon and SW Washington Chapter is hiring a full time Assistive Technology Services Coordinator. The full position description is on our website www.alsa-or.org.

Over view:

Provide comprehensive and professional assistive technology services as it relates to augmentative and alternative communication and computer access to people and families living with ALS.

Work collaboratively with the Chapter Care Services staff to provide support, education and advocacy to families living with ALS in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area and SW Washington regions

Possess knowledge of or capacity for learning about assistive technology and augmentative communication devices used by people with ALS

Possess understanding of adaptive computer access for people with progressive disability

Knowledge and experience with progressive disability and physical rehabilitation is required.

Position requires local travel and spending time working directly with people with ALS and their families in their homes and in the community.

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and two to four years related experience and/or training OR Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Rehabilitation Engineering or other assistive technology related fields.
