Use text to speech in Powerpoint on a laptop and stored/novel messages on a tablet? PPT slides could be configured for a timed presentation, paused with a toggle switch for comments or questions ...?

Hi Team,
Does anyone have any recommendations for flexible e-readers for Windows that would enable our patients to have their tablet read aloud a document they have prepared (like a lecture) sentence by sentence with the following abilities:
1.  An easy way to shift to their communication app for stored messages (anticipated answers to questions) and produce SNU (spontaneous novel utterances) in the middle of the presentation of the document.
2. Navigate back or forward  a sentence or two if someone asked them to repeat or they want to jump ahead.

Basically what I am trying to re-create is one of the great features of EZkeys, which is the Reader, for some of my patients who don't use EZkeys?

My familiarity with e-reader is limited and so I would greatly appreciate any suggestions of apps or programs to try out or even the ones to skip since they won't work the way I need them to.

Thanks!!!

Sincerely,
