Hi Listserv,
I go out to homes so frequently and find people with their arms hanging past armrests, chairs that don't tilt or recline, and without a headrest or decent seat. I asked our occupational therapist Melody Fung to make a list of the power chair features necessary for people with ALS. These are features that are typically covered by insurance. It is hard to advocate for yourself, a client, or loved one when you have no idea what is available or appropriate. I hope this list helps families. Please add your comments if we missed something that you would recommend. Enjoy the weekend.
