What is your preferred speech generating device for a PALS who has bulbar onset and is ambulating?

 

I used to recommend the Lightwriter SL40 quite a bit, but last I heard insurance isn’t covering those anymore or they’re no longer being manufactured? Thoughts on this?

 

I have a patient right now actually (in 5 minutes) who is bulbar onset and looking for a recommendation. I will likely give him a loaner lightwriter for today but looking towards the future what is everyone recommending?
