Hi there

Sorry-did that sound a bit cryptic!

What I meant was, of all the devices to use over the phone, the Lightwriter I have found by far the easiest and user friendly for the listener and the user. It has very easy to access ready made phrases so that when you are on a call you can go to one quickly , and you can set these to automatically play when a person answers the phone e.g. I am using a speech aid please be patient

As the device itself is the phone is also is very clear to hear when you are the listener, rather than holding up a device

Hope that makes sense

Helen

Helen,

Could you please explain what you mean by "allows time for a face to face phone call" and "whilst keeping the listener informed of what is happening". In what ways does it do those two things?  Thanks!

Hi Margaret

I have used this a lot- it works well. The only issue is that the contacts of the names on the Lightwriter come up quite small so it is difficult for anyone with visual impairment. It sounds out a little bell when a person receives a text also which is nice.

In terms of phone use, the SL40 connect is a great device and really allows time for a face to face phone call, whilst keeping the listener informed of what is happening,

Kind regards

Helen

Hi- I was wondering if anyone on the list had tried texting using a LightWriter,

and if so, how it worked out?

Thanks!
