You might want to try next up talker with an on screen keyboard. Not as good as etriloquist but still works pretty good. There is a free version but for $50 you can upgrade to acapella voicesLisaOn Aug 19, 2015 8:11 PM, "Amy Lustig" <xxxxxx@gmail.com> wrote:
One down ... ?# to go!!Here's how I've "solved" the problem for anyone who's interested: I happen to have a copy of Tobii Communicator 4 software on disk, with a license number that's good for loading onto three different devices. (The Tobii rep actually clued me in to language that can be used to get that number reset, if, for example, you have to reload it because the computer it was on froze or crashed ... ;) ...I have instructed the patient to download Communicator 4 from the Tobii website (can be hard to get to; I got a direct link from their tech support -- let me know if you need it) and then we will use my license number to confirm the purchase at no cost to the patient.

Unfortunately, according to their website, e-triloquist is not compatible with Windows 8 tablets, only with desktop or laptop computers. It would have definitely been a great solution!

Have you tried e-triloquist? The voice is not pretty, but it can be downloaded onto a surface, as it is a windows based program. It is free. In addition, it comes with preprogrammed phases.

My bad - I posed the original question and Alisa was kind enough to pass it onto the listserv. I should have asked for a Windows solution, not an android solution. So far the only thing I've come up with for a dedicated speech generating keyboard are those that are embedded in either the Communicator or the Compass software. Neither two Tobii field reps nor a phone tech person could suggest any other solutions.AmyAmy Lustig, PhD, CCC-SLPRestorative Speech & SwallowJenkintown, PA--

As far as I know (and I'm perfectly happy to be proven wrong) there is no practical option for eye gaze with android. You should be able to use Windows on screen keyboard or something like click and type (depending on operating system) to type into etriloquist?Ed Hitchcock OT/LTechnology CenterRehabilitation Institute of ChicagoFrom: xxxxxx@alsa.simplelists.com [mailto:xxxxxx@alsa.simplelists.com] On Behalf Of Alisa Brownlee

Subject: Question about Tobii PC EYeAre there any dedicated keyboard-based text-to-speech apps for Android (MS Surface Tablet) users that are compatible with the PCEyeGo module? The best I can come up with is one app for generating a text document that would then have to be merged with something like etriloquist to get it to be spoken aloud. Can't locate anything like the Proloquo2Go keyboard for Android ...Thanks for any suggestions!!Confidentiality Notice: This message and any attachments are only for the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential, privileged and/or protected health information.
