Hi--

I recently heard that one of our families was denied reimbursement for their Chattervox amplifier. The family followed the protocol that has worked without a problem for years: they got a prescription, purchased the device after they had received the prescription, and then submitted the prescription and receipt along with the Medicare reimbursement form.

They purchased the device from a local brick-and-mortar music store (which hasn't seemed to be a problem in the past). I've heard that the supplier has to be Medicare-approved, however I called around to some online stores including chattervox.com and enablemart.com. None of these suppliers are "Medicare-approved", however families have been able to receive reimbursement after purchasing from online suppliers such as these in the past.

The denial may have just been a fluke, but if things are cracking down and the Medicare-approved supplier condition is being more strictly enforced, I'm curious if anyone knows of any of these approved suppliers that carry Chattervoxes or other good DME amplifiers.

Thanks!
