Hi,
I just caught wind of something on the RESNA AT listserv and wanted to bring it to the attention of AAC/AT specialists and people who run lending libraries and demo centers on our list.
The B Joystick Ring enables a person to use their wheelchair joystick to control computers. It is a simple, add-on ring that any of us could install. It comes in a wireless or wired version. The Rings with a wired USB connection a to computer or SGD costs about $315 and the wireless version (which can control multiple computers, SGDs, phones) is about $650. This could be perfect for power chairs that don't have BT capabilities built in. What a great item to carry in our lending libraries and definately demo centers. The first video gives a great idea of how it works and how simple it is to add to a joystick. I can already think of many clients who might do well with this.
If anyone has used it already please let us know what you think. The comments on the AT listserve were positive though many were waiting to try it.
Sincerely,
