I would piggy back of of this suggestion - I have been running into situations where stereo/mono seems to be a problem.  I don't know if the plug on the Tobii is stereo or mono.  The Pillow Swtich is mono - if the port on the Tobii is stereo, then you could try a stereo to mono splitter (not stereo to stereo) and that may solve the problem.

I do know that occasionally the jack on a given switch does not play well with a given plug.  I would certainly make sure that Margarets suggestions are tried first.  But then maybe try and extension cable or something to get a different jack into it?

It's possible that she has already tried this, but...

1. Has she tried different pillow switches,  to make sure it's not just a problem with that one switch?
2. Has she tried that pillow switch to activate other items?

I would think that a switch is just a switch (the activation component), regardless of what type of switch it is.

I could be wrong, but just wanted to put it out there....

Why does a pillow switch not work with a Tobii?  Anyone know?

I received a message from an SLP that she’s tried a pillow switch with a Tobii twice and that particular switch doesn’t work.  Others do, just not the pillow switch.

Anyone else encounter this issue?

Thanks,
