forgot to mention that I know you said pt currently has iPhone, not sure about compatibility, but if memory serves me correctly from ATIA, iPhone is not nearly as successful as Android w/Grid 3.

make sure it's up to date. had a REALLY bad experience where a pALS bought a phone on the list only to find that it didn't work because the list was outdated vis a vis the latest version of Communicator.

I have tried several phones not on the list and have gotten varied results from it only being compatible to text messaging to dropping the Bluetooth signal so many times it becomes not worth it or not working at all.
