Antoinette and Jackie,I am checking out MyPhoneDesktop.com right now. Antonette, I was able to download it to my Surface for free. When I went to download it to my iphone it cost 4.99 which is fine. I just want to be sure it is the same one you are talking about. Reviews are mixed so I waned to double check. Also, to be sure I understand, this will give me a numpad on my Surface from which I can place (and receive?) iphone calls? For those of you who are further along in experimenting with this than me, would Google Voice do the same thing?I am trying to put together the total off-the-shelf Windows tablet solution but still need the phone piece.Sincerely,

I just downloaded www.myphonedesktop.com and it allows you to make a
phone call with my iPhone. You type in the number and then it makes the
call with the cell phone. Pretty cool.

Grid 3 is only compatible with Android, no iPhone capability.

forgot to mention that I know you said pt currently has iPhone, not
sure about compatibility, but if memory serves me correctly from ATIA,
iPhone is not nearly as successful as Android w/Grid 3.
Re: the list from Tobii
make sure it's up to date. had a REALLY bad experience where a pALS
bought a phone on the list only to find that it didn't work because the
list was outdated vis a vis the latest version of Communicator.

I've had the same problem as Rachel w/Tobii. Using Grid 3, I've been
able to connect many Android phones right away.

Unless the phone is on that list it is a very good chance that it
won't work. I have tried several phones not on the list and have gotten
varied results from it only being compatible to text messaging to
dropping the Bluetooth signal so many times it becomes not worth it or
not working at all. Anytime someone asks me about using their cell
phone with the TobiiDynavox I series devices I tell them to make sure
the phone they're going to pair is on that list.

It was my understanding that almost all cell phones could connect via
Bluetooth with the Tobii for phone calls, but only the select few listed
on the website were FULLY compatible, ie text messages, etc.
Is this not accurate?

There are cell phones that are compatible with his setup but
unfortunately iPhone isn't one of them. Tobii put a list of compatible
phones on their website but it's well over a year old. Best rec would be
to call Tobii to see which phones are compatible with his setup. Minimum
requirement is that it's an Android phone. There were several older
models that he could potentially obtain without having to spend too much
money and perhaps add to his current phone plan.
Best of luck,
