One solution for some users is to connect your AAC device with your phone via the phone link. Enablemart still sells it
https://www.enablemart.com/phone-link and Zygo used to, not sure if they still do. It also works with iPad communication apps. The drawback is it doesn’t work with the phone on speaker mode, so the handset
has to be held to hear.

Subject: telephone access question
From a person with ALS. This question is a little out of my league…
>>While the AAC device does help when needed, it doesn’t help with the phone. Voice Over IP technology allows digitized voices with IP phones. There are numerous text to speech applications
which I can use, but I have been unable to find one that allows VOIP communication.
Is anyone with the ALSA aware of any such application? I could see a real benefit if folks that have to use electronic devices could use them to talk on the phone to others, without having to
use a speaker phone, which distorts voices already. <<<
Any input appreciated.
