Hi All,

I'm struggling thinking of ideas for telephone use for a speech impaired person.  She uses text, but there are times she really wants to communicate via voice with her kids who live a distance away in military training etc..

Client has ALS, is ambulatory, functional hand use (although finger dexterity decreased and overall hands becoming weak), very poor speech.

Looking for ways to use telephone communication via land and cell phone using sgd technology.

Interested in devices, but because she is ambulatory, this will be very difficult to master such as a Tobii, LC Edge and similar due to the size and weight of the iseries type devices; however we also don't want to use insurance funding for a device that won't be able to be modified for future headmouse or eye gaze access.

Some have used a Windows tablet (surface pro type) device with google voice and hangouts apps, but she needs her speech synthesizer software to "speak" through the phone line. Not sure if she would be able to manage a surface tablet and be ambulatory, the old "walking and talking" at the same time.

She currently uses iPad with "verbally", but is not having good luck with phone on speaker option to pick up the verbally voice...  I like Clarocom due to the features to communication send via text, email, etc...

Any other strategies or ideas that I should offer to her?
