If you download the ALS Assn Manuals - http://www.alsa.org/als-care/resources/publications-videos/manuals/

You can open them up in iBooks and use the speak screen feature to have them read to you - just tried it and it works.

There are other way to have the text read on other platforms as well if they do not have an iOS device available.

My dad is blind and has been diagnosed with ALS and needs an audible book to understand about ALS.  I can only find printed and large print which is not of help.
