For what it's worth:

One of my PALS had been using the xBox One with Kinect (before he passed recently). This is all per his report:

He said that the recent Windows 10 anniversary update--which was supposed to improve cross-platform interconnection--actually messed with his ability to use the xBox One voice commands with Netflix and other non-Windows apps.

He contacted Windows about the issue and it sounded like they didn't have plans to fix that particular bug.

Hi-
The Xbox One worked very well as a hands-free, voice-activated control for one of our clients for his Netflix and TV. He used one of the older versions. I believe the newer ones also need the Kinect.
Thanks,
Sara

I know this group had a discussion a couple of weeks ago about using the Echo for controlling a TV remote.  I know Antoinette asked if anyone knew of any other device besides the Blu Moo to use but I didn’t see a response.

Has anyone tried Google Home with another device to operate a TV remote?

We have a significant number of people that can still speak but don’t have hand function.  They want voice recognition access to their TV and since they don’t have an SGD I am trying to find alternatives for them.

Any recommendations appreciated.
