In relation to this, I attended at our regional AAC spending oversight meeting with my SaLT colleagues earlier this week, and there was a lengthy discussion regarding the appropriate choice of text-based iOS Apps for clients between Predictable, P2Gtext and ClaroCom. I suggested to them that I contact this group to see if anyone had developed criteria App choice that could be passed on for reference. For example I feel that the phrases section is easier to navigate to for a switch user in Predicatble than P2Gtext, so if the user is likely to be using the App mainly for pre-generated phrases then Predictable might be the better choice.  Does anyone have any criteria on which they base iOS text-based AAC  App choice?

Cheers

Jeremy

I have a table for iPad/iPhone and Android apps but this list-serv does not allow attachments.  If you want a copy, email me directly and I'll send it.

Hi all,

Do you have a simple list of text to speech apps for iPad/iPhone, Android, and Windows. I'm trying to make a nice single page handout and I feel like I've got loads of outdated or maybe not user friendly stuff. Would love to hear your favorites. Thank you!
