Dear Colleagues,
After recent approval by the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee (thank you to Lisa Bardach for her testimony), tomorrow the full E&C Committee will vote on the Steve Gleason Enduring Voices Act
of 2017. Last night’s press release about tomorrow’s vote included the following:
- H.R. 2465, the Steve Gleason Enduring Voices Act of 2017,
authored by House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-WA), House Majority Whip Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA), and Rep. John Larson (D-CT), would make coverage of speech
generating devices under “routinely purchased durable medical equipment” permanent under the Medicare program. H.R. 2465 passed
#SubHealth by voice vote
last month.
Below you will see the list of E&C Committee Members. Act sponsorship
is indicated in front of their names. While this is short notice, if you are a constituent, or have constituents, in any of these Members’ Congressional districts, please contact their offices and request that they vote for H.R. 2465 at the E&C Committee
meeting (and if they have already co-sponsored the Act, thank them for their leadership). As we know, this is a necessary step to ensure affordable access to communication for many who would otherwise have no alternative.
Thank you and all best regards,
Kathy
