Amy,

Thank you! Five minutes after I posted that yesterday I remembered that I had it on our Vmax =) I spent a lot of time looking at the phrase page sets and got a lot of inspiration for voice banking!

Subject: DynaVox Reps Provide Free Demo AlphaCore

Hi Erin,

Anyone who does AAC evals (especially for patients with ALS) should have a copy of AlphaCore on all their DynaVox evaluation devices (VMax, V, Maestro, EyeMax).  The local DynaVox rep will get it to you if you don't have it.

Also, I'll have a new version of AlphaCore out very soon that includes two brand new page-sets especially tailored to pALS who use eyegaze.  I will post when the new version is available so you can ask your rep for it.  (Ideally, he/she will let you know)

Please do let me know if you have any trouble getting a free copy of AlphaCore for evaluations.  DynaVox wants SLPs to have the evaluation tools they need easily at hand so they should be happy to get it to you.

Sincerely,

Amy Roman, MS, CCC-SLP

Amy,

Thank you.

How can I check out Alphacore Xtreme? Do I need to purchase it first?

Hi Erin,

Here is the message list I hand out.  It helps to spark pALS imagination and inspire them to voice bank.  Also, look at page sets like AlphaCore to see what phrases in each category you like.  Check out AlphaCore Xtreme for the largest bank of phrases within topics like Greetings, News& Stories, Comfort & Positioning, Control Communication, Chat X-Tenders, Phone, General Needs, Appointments, Shopping, Entertainment, etc.

Also, check out David Beukelman and Michelle Gutmann's list at

Hello All:

I am going to do some voice banking with an ALS patient- in the past weâve just created our own lists of phrases but I was hoping that someone out there might have a functional list of common phrases and sentences that we could voice bank so that we have some real functional phrases. I would love if you could forward it to me if so!  Any tips with voice banking are welcome too!

Anything I donât have to create on my own saves time and makes me very happy!
