I was just speaking the Respiratory Therapist at the ALS
Center
where I used to work. We were talking about BiPap and AAC (I was
mentioning that because a person can’t generally wear eye glasses
when
they are using a BiPap mask, it can sometimes make using AAC really
challenging
(i.e. if the person can’t see the computer screen, or low tech
board when they have their glasses off.) The RT mentioned that there is a new mask that she has been
recommending that allows a person to wear eyeglasses while they are using
the
mask. (She has been recommending it in cases when the person has a lot of
skin
breakdown on their nose) She was very enthusiastic about it- I just wanted to mention
it in
case the info was helpful to anyone on the list. ResMed Mirage Liberty Mask http://www.resmed.com/en-uk/products/masks/mirage_liberty/mirage-liberty.html?menu=products
