Hi Alisa,-

I contacted the company about a year and a half ago, and also a few months ago … (and only got a response to my second inquiry).  They didn’t respond to my requests to try it out with a client.

I’ll see if I can find the email I received from them.  My concern was- if it’s something that attaches to the neck, and the nerves which are enervating the muscles used for speech are dead, what is the device actually going to transmit?

The email that I rec’d from Audeo said something to the extent that if you touched the person’s throat, and could feel vibrations, then the person might be able to use the Audeo.

As an aside (and this is my personal opinion)- I wish they wouldn’t put their website up until they actually have a product.   I’m a big believer in hope, but not false hope.  The website has been up for at least a year and a half… I contacted them early on, and never got a response.   I’ve hand clients who came and went during that time period.

If the product works- great. However, it’s not available yet, and it’s not clear if it would actually benefit our clients. I wish they wouldn’t advertise until they have a product for sale…

Margaret

Sorry, I keep sending emails and forgetting that I have one more thing.  (and sending them without spell checking.  Sorry for previous misspellings in earlier emails....I have not had enough coffee)

I am hoping to compile any feedback into a document which I will forward to the National ALS office so they can keep it on file when they get inquires from PALS.

Thanks,

Alisa
