this situation use their iPads w/a speaker phone and one of the speaking
apps (Speak It, NeoKate, NeoPaul, AssistiveChat). For louder voice, I
suggest they buy an external speaker such as the Omnitech speaker from
Staples (cost is $9.99). Lisa On Thu, Mar 3, 2011 at 1:29 PM, Judie Benwick <xxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxx>

everyone, I received a
question from a PALS who is still able to use his hands but is not able to
communicate by telephone because of his speech impairment. He is
asking if it is possible to use a laptop or iPad or iPhone to connect to a
TTY or HCO system. He would prefer the iPAD or iPhone over
specialized TTY equipment or a Uniphone. Thanks very much for
your help with an answer. Judie Judie Benwick, MSH, MPH, CHES
