I have successfully set up several ModelTalker voices on DynaVox devices, and on laptops running E-triloquist.  I agree with Jen that they are usually lower in quality than the commercially available voices, at least to the objective listener.  However, family members have appreciated that the voices have more of their loved ones’ personality.  ModelTalker voices should work on any Windows-based device, and in any program that supports SAPI voices (although I haven’t tried them on any SGDs other than DynaVox).

Our Dynavox rep worked with a family on Model talker and it worked on their products.

Has anyone worked with a pALS who completed the Model Talker project, had a synthesized voice created, and used it in a commercially-available SGD?  If so, would love your feedback, esp re: which SGD(s) worked.

thanks,

Lisa
