"Completely voice-activated" telephones are relatively unreliable; particularly given prognosis for speech with ALS diagnosis. She may wish to seek intervention through a assistive technology Center that can set her up with a switch access and evaluation. Then she can take a look at a RC 200 probably.

I am hardly in the Minnesota area, but closer than you are Alisa! Mayo Clinic has an assistive technology Center, and I think the courage Center is also somewhere in Minnesota? Maybe put her in touch with one of those?

Hello. My name is Heather Ellingboe and my Grandmother is currently fighting ALS. She no longer has use of her arms and her hands seem to be getting worse and I am trying to find a completely voice activated telephone (preferably home phone) that she can use. I have been on dozens of websites and the only ones that I can find are sold online only and do not come with any type of guarantee. I am weary about buying one of these as they are expensive and I want to be sure that the device I buy will work with her situation. Do you know of any stores I can buy one of these phones at (we live in Minnesota) or can you at least lead me in the right direction as to what products you know of that work well and possibly websites for those products. Thank you very much for your time.
        Sincerely, Heather Ellingboe
