The
MDA will pay for one AAC equipment repair, for up to $500 per year.
(I imagine you would have to try and go through insurance
first?)
(I just had a friend who got his LightWriter repaired at Tobii. The
P.O. was sent to the Bay Area MDA.) I don’t think it took
longer than 3 weeks to get it fixed.

Subject: loaner
equipment
Aside from the
MDA loaner closet (here in California) does anyone have a suggestion for
getting a loaner Lightwriter for a patient who has to send in her device
for repair??
Her device is
likely to be gone for about 2-3 months and I’m having trouble finding
her a loaner type and talk device to use in the mean
time.
She lives in
Merced California. Any help welcome
thanks!
