Each year, the ALS Association hosts an annual clinical conference to help health care providers further their education about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) through workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with other health care professionals. This three-day conference explores the science and research of ALS; medical management of ALS, avenues of social support for people living with ALS, as well as their family members and caregivers; quality of life; and pulmonary care.

The conference committee invites healthcare professionals to submit an abstract for consideration as a workshop presenter.  Notification to speakers will be made approximately August 1.

Speakers are encouraged to share information related to the medical care and management of a person with ALS, the impact of disease on the person, family, or children, psychosocial issues, and caregiver issues.  Representatives from the fields of assistive technology, hospice, mental health,  neurology,  neuropsychiatry/psychology, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, palliative care, psychiatry, physical therapy, pulmonology /respiratory, social work and speech pathology are encouraged to submit presentation proposals.

Please feel free to also pass this announcement along to colleagues who might be interested in presenting.
