We use the ECAS (Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioral ALS Screen) in our ALS clinic here at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and are currently in the middle of
a new research study related to cognitive screening with our ALS patients. It is also a screen, but is relatively easy to administer and pretty user and patient friendly.
Please feel free to reach out to me separately via email
xxxxxx@pennstatehealth.psu.edu if you have any questions about the test or just in general about our clinic, etc.

Subject: Cognitive Testing
Hello all!
I have been getting a lot of questions about effective cognitive testing in our pALS from the clinics we support here. I believe we, as the ALS Association, recommend the ALS CBS, but I know that is just a screening device, plus several
of my clinics report that they do not like it d/t its 'clunky-ness." Anyone have experience or thoughts about different options?
Thank you!
