+1 on the Amazon Alexa/Google home combined with Harmony hub.

SAJE is also still available. It would require him to hit the switch (which could be pneumatic or headmounted or what have you) but then allows for voice activation of TV etc. Significantly more expensive however than the Google home/Amazon echo compliant with Harmony hub.

Subject: voice activated remote control for TV

Good afternoon -  Anyone have any ideas on any good voice activated universal remote controls available on the market?  This has to be total voice recognition as the patient I have has no use of his hands/arms.  He has dishnetwork which has the voice recognition capabilities however you have to press and hold the voice button on the remote which is not helpful.  He tried an amazon dot which states it works with the dishhopper however, it didn’t work for them.  He is currently living in a nursing home and has to ask his neighbor to come change the tv channel for him.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can provide.

Tara
