Hi,
The other company for voice banking that I have heard of is http://www.cereproc.com/.  This is the one Steve Gleason and Roger Ebert used.

If I understand correctly, they do offer one service that Modeltalker does not.  You can submit prior recordings (which typically only media personalities have available) and they will create your synthesized voice from these recordings.  This is expensive since it will take many hours of transcribing for the company to do this.

Given that people with ALS can use the Modeltalker protocol while their speech is clear to create their synthesized voice for free,  I am not certain this system offers anything extra for our patients who are pro-active.  Perhaps the voice quality is better.  Can anyone comment on that?

Sincerely,

I have had 1 patient who created a voice that he is really pleased w/ via model talker. Their tech Support has been super helpful. My searching has only turned up one source, model talker, to date.

Hi All,

Asking for information on other software programs which “create” a human-like sample of your own voice for use as a speech synthesizer… other than ModelTalker.

Are there other similar programs out there?

Any reviews?

Honestly, I have not yet had a client actually go through the complete training to create their own synthesized voice…although I have recommended it many times.

Thanks,
