Subject: (Please share with your social media network, staff listserv, newsletter, etc.) Celebrate Earth Day Every Day!
Did you know....
April 22, 2013 is Earth Day. On Earth Day, people all over the world learn about the environment and what we can do to protect it. People also help out in Earth Day events. These are activities that help the community and planet.
Some people pick up trash, other people plant trees, and other people collect bottles and cans for recycling. The activities people do on Earth Day really help the community and planet. Doing little things every day can also make a big difference! Try any of these:
- Turn off the lights when you leave a room.
- Turn off the water when you brush your teeth.
- Keep old wheelchairs, walkers or amplified telephones out of the landfill. Contact the PA Reused and Exchanged Equipment Partnership (REEP) at 800-204-7428 to donate "gently used" assistive technology.
- Visit the REEP website at www.disabilities.temple.edu/reep
REEP is a part of Pennsylvania's Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT), a program of the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University.
For more information on assistive technology, visit the PIAT website at http://disabilities.temple.edu/programs/assistive/piat/ or call 800-204-7428 (voice) / 866-268-0579 (TTY).
