Hi everyone,
I have loved the thread on new gadgets.  Alisa, this was a great way to use the listserv.  Thanks to you and all those who made me aware of some new tools.

I heard about a new tool on my RESNA listserv today posted by Maureen Aliani OTR/L.  I wanted to pass the info along.

It is a new Google keyboard for Morse code.  I pinned the resources to my Pinterest page under "Morse Code Resources" because I don't frequently need this solution but when I do it is very hard to find.  https://www.pinterest.com/amyandpals/

About every other year I encounter a client who has the potential to excel with and benefit from Morse code input Text-To-Speech.  Resources are rare and the systems I used in the past are no longer available.  A client I might consider this new option for would be cognitively intact, ambulatory (android phones are light weight), have no arm or shoulder movement but perhaps some finger movement.  The client may  just have thumb movement or ability to tap toes for switch access.  With ALS and other diseases these "man in a barrel " cases, in which the person loses UEs but still can walk,  are especially challenging.  Morse Code is an idea worth keeping in mind.  I have also found Morse Code helpful for people who are visually impaired and can't see a keyboard.  I love to avoid auditory scanning if at all possible.

Sincerely,
