am beside myself with delight that Acapela is using our Boston Children's Hospital model of message banking (free to all to use at Mymessagebanking.com - created in collaboration with TobiiDynavox) to create custom synthetic voice. This process is technology agnostic and is intended to be used with ANY AAC technology that will allow import of banked messages or integration of custom synthetic speech. I banked about 25 minutes of my own novel messages throughout a couple of days using a Zoom recorder as I wandered throughout my day. They created this voice at first pass! Imagine what this can mean for SO MANY PEOPLE who are facing losing the ability to speak!!

I believe Acapela plans to officially release the service in mid-October.  The cost will be US100.00 (one hundred!!) annual subscription only.
