I am not sure what the base is on the FRS device but assume it is windows.  The website says the RAM is upgradeable to 2 GB.  Depending on the platform and device, it may be something a computer tech can do.  But I would work very closely with FRS tech support to ensure not breaking anything and not voiding warranty.

 

I am a little confused why FRS would not upgrade it themselves though, is the pt trying to get medicare to cover upgrades?

I have been contacted by an ALS patient who is seeking to get Medicare payment for an eye gaze AAC device through Forbes Rehab.  He would like to pay for upgrades to the computer this system is based on, but Forbes is telling him they cannot accept payment from a patient. 

Does anyone know how he can accomplish this?
