Hello:

I have a patient who has been having trouble with her Forbes AAC WinSlate devices. She uses two models, one that is a few years older as well as a newer model obtained within the last year. She complains that the sound module and the eye camera often drop off, making the computer unusable. Someone has to then reboot the computer simply to get the camera recognized again. They have not had much luck troubleshooting with customer service to prevent the problem from happening again.

Has this issue been coming up with other WinSlate users and if so, any suggestions on addressing this?

I'm also curious about whether there are particular eyegaze SGDs that have stood out as being especially reliable from various vendors.
