Good afternoon!
I have used EZ Speech PRO with both ALS and non-ALS patients.
I find it does take some practice to learn how to program the phrases for later retrieval (at least it did for me). Other differences when compared to Verbally Premium include:
1. EZ-Speech PRO has unlimited categories AND unlimited number of phrases that may be programmed in each. Also, visibility of the entire message within the target button is easier than on Verbally. Verbally Premium allows user to program as many categories as desired, but only 12 phrases may be programmed per category and the buttons are all the same size, no matter length of phrase. EZ-Speech does not have a list of frequently used words that may be accessed like Verbally Premium does.
2. EZ-Speech PRO has pre-programmed phrases that are not accessible simultaneously with the keyboard on the same screen
3. EZ-Speech PRO does not have word prediction other than the auto-correct that is built into the iOS operating system
4. EZ-Speech PRO allows for a VERY LARGE FONT which also increases the size of the button for the user to activate, at times, making it easier to access
5. EZ-Speech PRO uses NeoSpeech voices, Verbally Premium uses Acapela.
6. EZ-Speech PRO does not have a chime tone to alert communication partners- Verbally Premium does have a chime tone built in as button on keyboard.
Just my two cents- Have a great day!

Subject: [EXTERNAL] reviews on Gus EZ Speech for iPad
Hi All,
Anybody have any reviews on the Gus EZ Speech for iPad?
http://www.gusinc.com/EZ_Speech_for_iPad_iPhone.html
I do like the ability to organize phrases according to category which is a benefit over Speak it. It also looks like there are endless numbers of categories as compared to Verbally which is only one page of customized phrases, right?
Any other apps which allow organization of frequently used phrases for those who do not need pictures or symbols and who require text-to-speech?
Sincerely,
