Another option is a different Bluetooth stack, such as http://www.bluesoleil.com/. I haven't used it myself, but it should allow you to use a Bluetooth device with the HandsFree profile. May be worth checking out. -----Original Message----- From: xxxxxx@alsa.simplelists.com [mailto:xxxxxx@alsa.simplelists.com] On Behalf Of Amy Lustig Sent: Friday, March 18, 2016 6:49 AM To: xxxxxx@alsa.simplelists.com Subject: Re: nonspeaking, telephone use Many apologies- I was wrong about an Android phone being compatible with Communicator 5 on a tablet. My patient had been using it for texting, not for placing direct calls. And I managed to get a cogent response from Tobii on the issue as follows: "Unfortunately, we don’t have any mobile phones compatible for that combination of products. The mobile phone portion of Communicator 5 looks for the built in I-series Bluetooth, not any connections that a surface pro may have. This has come up in regards to the 3G surface option and that is not compatible, either." -Amy Sent from my iPhone > On Mar 18, 2016, at 5:30 AM, Linskell Jeremy (NHS TAYSIDE) <xxxxxx@nhs.net> wrote: > > I have just had a look at the myphonedesktop site and it certainly looks interesting but you should bear a couple of caveats in mind. > This appears to be a WiFi-based connection, so firstly, if you're relying on it, if your 3G/4G reception isn't good when on the go you are likely to have issues with the performance of the web-based client.
