I think it's pretty safe as it attaches to the batteries and not the power wheelchair. We have tons of our clients with them, running their Trilogies and everything else off them. Great idea about the battery pack also. Amber L. The device does not pull that much power, so the battery pack should keep her going for the entire day. Thanks for the suggestion. I am nervous about wiring something into the chair - I know that people do it, but if it does not come from the manufacturer, I am afraid of any damage that could be done. Here are two link examples to further this: Example of a laptop power inverter that can possibly connect to the Permobile (?) --> http://www.asl-inc.com/products/product_detail.php?prod=5 Above inverter needs to be paired with something similar to this (find others on amazon) --> Click Here: I haven't checked out Permobil accessories they offer, so maybe they already have one that is made for it. A second option is, to just simply have a battery backup attached (velcro'd) to the chair, here is an example of what one of my client uses for a SP + Eyetracker combo --> Link: http://a.co/eCeYlnd. Per his feedback, he only charges it once at night and it lasts all day for him (tablet internal battery + Battery backup). But of course you know, your clients needs will of course be depending on what his eye gaze system power requirements and length of daily use. Hope this helps! It would advantageous for her to have a way to charge her device via her Permobil C300 - ideas? The eye gaze device requires a 110 Plug, so USB will not cut it.
