RE: Current state of BCI?

Hi-
We are currently working with the Wadsworth group on the BCI.
The system we are using is in the research stage and we are primarily looking at using the P300-based speller for communication.
We have enrolled several individuals with ALS in the study and welcome anyone in the Philadelphia area to participate. It usually involves two or three visits to complete a session.
In addition, we are working with the Wadsworth group to identify individuals who may be interested in home use. They are specifically looking for people who have difficulty with a traditional eye-gaze system but who are not locked in yet. (You need to be able to tell if the individual is able to understand your instructions, yes/no is usually enough.)
Our ultimate goal is to make the system more user-friendly.
Thanks,
Sara

Subject: Current state of BCI?
Hi -
I just got an email from someone who knows a former client of mine. My former client is on a vent, and is almost completely locked in (almost no eye movement)...
Is there any BCI interface which is currently available that works?
Has anyone had luck in signing up a client to be a research subject for the Wadsworth BCI, or received a device through their foundation?

Thanks for your help with this-
