Talkback is meant for people who are blind/low vision. I do not think it
would be very helpful for AAC type application. But I have not looked at
it for a while.

Speak it is available and probably better suited.

I actually just searched android market for "augmentative
communication". It pulled up about five more apps than it did the last
time I did. But I really have not tried any of them.
