RE: Call for Abstracts - Allied Professionals Forum Alisa Brownlee 03 May 2011 17:31 UTC

I know, sorry everyone. I can't send attachments through this listserv and I tried to open the document but it is in a zip format that my computer will not read.

Chris Madden is the person at the MND Alliance that sent the document
xxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My suggestion is to contact Chris and ask for a different format if you are intersted in getting the MND information.

Alisa

Subject: Call for Abstracts - Allied Professionals Forum

On behalf of the International Alliance of ALS/MND Associations, and the organising committee, we invite you to consider submitting an abstract for presentation at the 2011 Allied Professionals Forum to be held in Sydney on 29 November 2011.

We have attached the Call for Abstracts for your information and consideration.

The usually rapid and relentless progression of ALS/MND poses huge problems of adjustment for people with ALS/MND, escalating burden on carers and families and a real challenge to health and social care professionals in their ability to provide effective and responsive care management across agency boundaries.

That is why it is so important for health and social care professionals to help each other by sharing good practice. We invite you to come to Sydney and share your experiences in an informal setting with your international peers.

The aim of the day is to foster the exchange of information and good practice to facilitate the highest standard of care for people with ALS/MND and their caregivers.

With the challenges posed in managing ALS/MND, the programme committee is particularly interested in receiving abstracts which demonstrate:

*       practical management strategies
* provide opportunities to reflect on options and solutions
* stimulate understanding and learning, and the ability to translate this into practice
* reflect international differences and similarities in care management

We look forward to receiving abstracts for presentation, and seeing you in Sydney.
